Is Big D just getting paranoid, or did Bruce really survive the explosion…?

The patrons finally manage to escape, and the bar goes up in flames. Is this the end of Bruce and his nefarious plans?

Because the panels are so packed with art, I decided to color this one with my tablet. I usually have to connect every line so the paint bucket doesn’t spill, but that was too much work here. That also gave me a chance to add some extra quirks to it. I’m practicing my coloring and eventually I’d like to ink digitally aswell.

As Big D, Browny and Kat struggle to defeat Bruce’s legion of chefs, the gang manages to escape from the catacombs while being chased by the racoons. How will this all turn out?

I was struggling for a while to come up with a way to include this exposé and show how Bruce and his mysterious friend kept control of the situation (via their kitchen staff, as hinted in this strip). Then it occured to me I should just skip that and move the action along a bit. That’s one of the most important things I learned from art class: if you’re stuck on an idea, just throw it away and start anew, however much you like the original idea.

It seems the diner’s devious plot is finally unravelling…
I had to practice a bit before drawing this strip because I was kinda out of shape with the characters, since I haven’t really drawn for a while.

Oh noes! Is this the end for our alcoholic fellowship, or will Kat be able to sober Gavin up enough to share his escape plan? Some interesting action coming next, now that we’ve cleared most of the plot setup!

Bruce begins his ploy to dispose of Gavin and Kat. But can he handle two very drunk and possibly belligerent animals? This was originally a two-comic scene, but I chose to merge them to keep the story going.

This comic was supposed to go up last weekend, but with all the barbecue-ness it was pushed back a bit. But today, among all my birthday festivities, I managed to finish it! I experimented a bit with the balloon outlines to see if I could make them pop out more.

Looks like everyone is settling in nicely at Bruce’s bar. Well ok maybe not everyone. But are they aware of the looming danger? Sinister forces seem to be at work here…
