As I drew the Raccoon King in this strip, I realized he’s been getting progressively bigger since he was first introduced. I like the idea of him being huge (for a raccoon), but he’s going too much in the direction of Browny, so I’m going to try to shrink him down gradually again towards the end of the storyline.

No underground catacomb adventure can go without an Indiana Jones reference. Those raccoons really have some interesting stuff down there…

It appears the raccoons are not as fierce as they appeared. But what is their part in all this?
I’m not 100% happy with panel 2, but it works. I have to constantly mediate between keeping it clean and simple, and setting a strong mood. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes not so much.

Kat is brought before his captors. What is their agenda in all this?
I wanted the raccoons to have a sort of stronghold in the underground tunnels, and considering rodents’ favourite hobby -stealing shiny things-, I concluded it should be a large Medieval hall filled with the amassed treasures of their stealy ways. It turned out pretty okay considering I had to rush it a bit the night before I went on vacation for a week, since I didn’t want to leave it laying around until I got back. I’m glad I never pay attention to perspective, otherwise I surely wouldn’t have made it!
